Check out the interesting stories from history of how other Presidents responded when handed their heads by the voters in a midterm election.
From Denny: The now infamous positive and inspiring Obama slogan of "Yes, We Can!" from campaign 2008 has eroded into a sloppy "Maybe We Can't" after two years of failed governing.
Jon Stewart had an interesting guy on his show for this election week. Presidential historian Michael Beschloss talked about the Midterm Shellacking Experience received by many presidents. He told the tale of President Harry Truman when he got his clock cleaned after his first two years in office. After all, the Republicans were working overtime to reverse FDR's New Deal and huge heroic image with the public by attacking Truman, FDR's former VP.

Funny Video: Jon Stewart Announces Restore to Sanity Rally
Sometimes, when you report all the time on how crazy politics can get - like with Fox "News" and Glenn Beck pronouncements - a guy just has to start a "new political movement."
Funny Video: Jon Stwart Lampoons Republican New Pledge As Tired Old Pledge
You heard it here first: The spend-thrift environmnet-trashing Republicans are recycling - finally!
Funny Video: Stewart Questions Character of Congress
Republicans in Congress lack compassion for anyone but Big Money, Big Business, Big Oil and Big Insurance. Then it's all crying and whining about wanting to continue the Bush tax cuts - which, by the way, are 30 percent of our current deficit. Yeah, deficit hawks, you don't ever mention that "factoid" to your Republican and Independent voters, now do you?
Funny Video: Stewart Finds Obama Kryptonite
President Obama held a town hall meeting that centered around the economy and Wall Street. Middle class voters and staunch supporters blasted the President with their frustration of him, his policies, his slow response to the economy and excesses of Wall Street.
One African-American woman, a CFO at a veteran's organization, frankly said, "I'm exhausted of defending you." Talk about zapping the President's strength. She was a veritable "Obama zapping machine." "A black, lady, financial analyst veteran?" Stewart said in disbelief. "We have found Obama's Kryptonite."

Funny Video: Stewart Says Tea Party Won The Battle For The Soul Of The GOP
Jon Stewart of The Daily Show at Comedy Central wonders about why Karl Rove was not an enthusiastic member of the Tea Party Express for witches, calling O'Donnell "nutty." Yes, there is a battle of the nutjobs in the Republican Party, wrestling for control of America's hearts and minds.

Funny Video: Stewart Mocks Gov. Jan Brewer Fiasco, Wonders Why Dems Are Lame
One of the best political critics around, Jon Stewart wonders why the Democrats just can't seem to win against inept lying Republicans.

From Denny: Jon Stewart analyzes why the Democrats just can't seem to get their message out above all the Republican gaffes. Case in point? Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer's brain freeze for 28 seconds during a debate where she couldn't remember what she had memorized. Why not? Probably because she didn't believe any of it in the first place.
Stewart talks about the Democrats in the upcoming midterm elections where there is much speculation the Dems will get trounced in the House. The truth is the polls are only for generic Dems vs. generic Republicans. The reality is it could tip either way. The Dems need to do a huge national push to get out their voters. They should be pushing on them to get out for the primaries.
Here in Louisiana we have 3 million eligible voters. Guess how many came out for the Senate primary? Less than 100,000 - and it was split three ways among Dems, Independents and Republicans. Well, at least I voted in Charlie Melancon - a great guy for the Dems. After all, who needs Senator Whore House Vitter?
Stewart is as puzzled as I am that the national party is doing so little to get out their message and get out their voters for ALL elections. Yet the Republicans continue to capture voter attention with lies, gaffes and horrific political strategies like racially insensitive legislation and false statements about decapitated heads in the Arizona desert. Yet Republicans continue to run as much as 20 points ahead of reasonable sane Democratic opponents. "What's wrong with that picture?"

Funny Video: Jon Stewart Comments on Gay Marriage - Californigaytion
*** Jon Stewart questions and lampoons the lame CNN news interview when the gay marriage ban was lifted by a federal ruling.

From Denny: Talk about awkward. Sometimes, when a story like the lifting of California's gay marriage ban from a federal judge is in the news - the reporter's reaction speaks more loudly than the news story. A CNN news reporter goes looking for somebody gay to ask about their reaction to California's Proposition 8 ban on gay marriage struck down by a federal judge.
So, the reporter gets the "brilliant" idea of going over to an Atlanta, Georgia "known gay bar of a twenty year standing" to interview someone. Uh, why didn't he just call any number of gay political action groups for their reaction and an interview? You know, people who are familiar with the legal wranglings on the subject - but a gay bar at three in the afternoon? How lame.
Of course, the amusing response from Jon Stewart about the odd - and very awkward - interview, "Was that an interview or a gay speed date gone horribly wrong?"
