Mission Accomplished: Dead Terrorist Osama Bin Laden Political Cartoons

From Denny: While Pakistan bobs and weaves on who knew what and when about the whereabouts of Bin Laden for five long years, there is no shortage of opinion about his recent demise.

Frankly, no person of sound and reasonable mind believes the folks in Pakistan did not know Bin Laden was living next door. Even the locals who did not know for sure his identity knew something creepy was going on in that tourist town about 100 miles outside of Islamabad.

Of course, when you know a really bad guy with too much money, possesses a desperate need for privacy and keeps too many armed guards, well, it is a definite clue to steer clear of him. Would you try to friend a drug lord or the world's number one terrorist if he moved into your neighborhood?

Journalists in general - and the Arab world in particular - all are howling for the official photos proving Osama Bin Laden is truly dead. President Obama continues to refuse to release the gruesome photos, rejecting the world pressure.  Obviously, at some point in a few months, it will be necessary to do so.  The president is smart to delay that day for as long as possible, giving time for emotions to calm down.

It's a general consensus throughout the Arab world as much as in the West that the worst of terrorism is finished with the exit of Bin Laden.  After all, his group considered him untouchable and undefeated.  It is a crushing blow to find your leader was so easily killed.

More than that, ten years is a long time since America was attacked by terrorism.  The reality is that Bin Laden lived in luxury and comfort while he kept his followers living in squalor, encouraging them to make the sacrifices he would not.  Ten years later these once young men look around them.  What they see is they have spent a decade looking over their shoulders, fearing the assassins while their friends who did not join terrorism  have built careers and married and enjoyed having children.

Those same men who were part of Bin Laden's group are scattered to the winds, fearful of capture since the Americans found all kinds of intelligence on the organization at Bin Laden's house.  They are throwing down their guns and running for the most remote areas they can find, hoping they can melt into the population without notice.

Meanwhile, the cartoonists are participating in excessive celebration of the world's relief we can finally close the chapter on this man.  Take a look:
